Dear reader, my name is Markus Lidborn and I am one of seven trainees starting their career at Lantmännen. My first placement is within Lantmännen’s Machine division which is the main supplier for Volvos construction equipment through Swecon and also the main supplier for agricultural machines from Claas, Fendt and Valtra trough Lantmännen Maskin. With the background as a Mechanical engineer from LTH with focus on machinery I really feel at home within this division, but who wouldn’t?

To all readers that were disappointed that my colleague Victoria couldn’t get a picture of a Lantmännen tractor, I sure can! Here is a Fendt 516 Vario outside Lantmännen Maskin in Malmö

My assignment is within delivery precision and the scope is to develop a method to be able to perform follow-up on delivery performances from our main suppliers, to both local sites and total for all our operating countries.

Operating countries you might think? Yes Lantmännen’s Machine division is represented in Denmark, Norway, Germany and the Baltic States. This means a lot of traveling for me but also lots to experience and I really enjoy it!  Last week I got to visit Swecon’s head office in Germany and also one of Volvos construction sites in Konz where they manufacture excavators and compact wheel loaders.

It was very interesting to see the production line and learn about the production process. Even if you are in a foreign country you know that it is Swedish machines being manufactured and hopefully our sales team will make sure that they end up back home.

Apart from my project I sometimes get the opportunity to join my trainee colleagues on their excursions and learn more about Lantmännen’s broad business. There is always something to discover and explore within Lantmännen and sometimes I must pause and ask myself, do I really get to experience all this?

And the answer is yes Markus, and you actually get paid to do it!
