Hi everyone,
Yet another milestone is accomplished and we have finalized our projects from Period 2 , moving to new challenges. Assignments, accommodation and countries change during our trainee journey, but one thing stays constant – a proper re-charge between projects. This time the whole trainee gang was reunited in Malmö and while some of us have been seeing each other frequently during second period, others were a few time zones away. As always, we all couldn´t wait to get together and share experiences about our projects.
When I think of it, its amazing how much we learned through collective 18 projects during the past 7 months and it feels great to be able to share some tips about the business area you have been placed at with someone who is just heading there. This of course includes vital information on best lunch places around the office and which coffee machine in the office is “the one”.
This time in Malmö started with a visit to Agricultural Division. An enormous office building to the south of the city center, where Lantmännen occupies a whole floor. We were welcomed by Peter Annas – Seeds & Commodities Director, who told us about his exciting journey in Lantmännen that started 20 years ago. My main take away from his presentation was to stay curious and try new roles, while having patience watching your project “seeds” grow into amazing initiatives.
Another hero of the day was Ola Bramstorp – ex Graduate Trainee at Lantmännen, who is now a Logistics Manager at Machine Division, responsible for spare parts. Listening to Ola was like a time travel into not so distant future, when we could ask questions about ” life after Trainee Programme” .
As a perfect conclusion to the day, we travelled to a French inner yard in Grenoble……..which we were surprised to discover in the middle of Malmö. Here we spent some hours rapidly inproving recently acquired skills in a game of Petanque, pretending to be Mousieur et Madame and cordially wishing each other “Bonne Chance” or Good luck:)
Until the next time!
Anna
