From flour to crispy crisps

Our third assignment is soon coming to an end. Mine (Pontus) have been at the Lantmännen Cerealia’s Marketing department within the baking category. It have been interesting to be in the world of concepts, shopper insights, trends, social media, developing new products, launching new products etc. Which have been quite different compared to my other assignments. Once we actually baked in Cerealia’s new kitchen during a Marketing plan meeting. Here is the result.


The Baking category at Cerealia are working with brands as Kungsörnen, Kornkammeret, Amo and Regal in Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway.

I’ve been responsible of launching some new products and relaunching some old ones, so this fall you will hopefully find some of my work on the store shelves in Sweden and in Denmark. For now I will enjoy the summer as much as did on our team event earlier this summer (see picture below.


As for me (Anna) there has been a lot of focus on crisp bread recently. As a part of my project, I got an opportunity to organize some new product tastings. In addition to receiving some product feedback from our Swedish colleagues, we wanted to have opinion from the Finns, so I travelled to Helsinki to organize product tasting there. This was a great opportunity to get to know new colleagues from both Cerealia and Unibake and brought some fun variety to my office days. We also got some good feedbacks so stay tuned for some crispy news 😉

While in Finland, I could´t miss the opportunity to visit our crisp production in Kotka. A 1,5 h drive from Helsinki was totally worth it as I got to see the place where the legendary Finn Crisps are produced.


Being on the factory tour, I got the opportunity to walk through each production phase of our crisp bread, from dough making to palletized product and couldn´t resist to try some still warm crisps, that just left the conveyer belt.


This was also fantastic opportunity to get to know my project members from Kotka, whom I previously only talked to via skype. It has been almost 2 years since my last visit to Finland, so I got to do some catching up with old friends after work. What can I say, I definitely feel a strong connection with the Crisp Team and its operational geography 😉
