Stockholm it is!

So much has happened since the last time I posted on the blog. I have finished my first placement in Unibake UK and have moved onto my next one, in Stockholm HQ! And guesssthlm which department I am based in- it’s the IS/IT!!

I never thought that I was a very technical person to be working with IT, but it turns out that you don’t need to be! My assignment is very logical and clear cut and you certainly don’t have to be no Mark Zuckerberg to be able to do this! My task, is then, to produce a web based training on the Project Management Tool of Lantmannen. This will be placed in e-campus, the web based training platform for Lantmannen and it will replace the existing face to face training that is provided by the IT department to project managers and project members. And I must say, I really am enjoying making this training program.

New city, new department, new project… how am I finding it? Well in one word- exciting!! Stockholm at the moment is a little too cold for me, but my colleagues and fellow trainees are making it a very enjoyable time for me!  I am absolutely loving being based on the HQ. It has such a vibrant and a pleasant atmosphere that it makes one more productive.

In parallel to our individual projects, all trainees were also assigned a strategic group assignment during our recharge session at Malmo on December 2011. We were divided into three groups and were all assigned a project sponsor. My group assignment, together with Jakob and Elin, is to develop a recommended strategy for Lantmännen on how to refine Lantmännen’s side streams and how to act on the ingredients market. The report will be used as a basis for future business development, which gives us the opportunity to dig deep into each and every sector that Lantmennen operates in and recommend a strategy which may later be implemented. A very important task for us indeed!

We will all be gethering in a conference centre in Sollentuna next week to attend our second training module, where we will have the chance to catch up with all the ten trainees from the different sectors of Lantmennen.

That’s all for today, I will keep you all posted on how it’s going soon in my next post!

Hej då!!
